Casei Gerola Logistics Park, designed by S.F.R.E. S.r.l. and built by ENGINEERING 2K S.p.a. on commission from Invesco Real Estate represents the first example in Italy of "green logistics" with LEED Platinum certification.
A new logistics hub with high sustainability performance and zero land consumption, which, with its one million square meters of brownfields to be reclaimed and strategic location facing the A7 highway at the intersection of the Milan-Genoa and Turin-Brescia highways, is poised to become one of the most important hubs for the industry.
The new Casei Gerola Logistics Park-around which 37,000 square meters of greenery consisting of plants, shrubs, bushes and flowers will grow, encouraging the establishment of animal species and reducing the ecological impact of the intervention-is a development by Invesco Real Estate, a global real estate investment management company; an investment that will create more than 200 jobs and an induced effect, not only for the municipality, but for the entire surrounding area.
The construction, which is made with the use of materials with high ecological quality and favoring the choice of products that can be found within a radius of 160 km from the site, with the aim of containing fuel consumption in transportation and favoring local commerce, and equipped with EPD (Environmental Product Declaration), is designed to ensure high energy performance thanks also to the adoption of efficient air conditioning systems.
